Gather Some Sun For Me

Last night, I watched a television program, it was about the introduction of a film... Especially because of the name, the director I wanted to watch this program and I'll be impatient to watch this film. Because it is going to be released on 26 February. The name of this film "Veda" means Farewell...It is a Zulfu Livaneli film... Who is Zülfü Livaneli? He is first of all, a beautiful person and I always admire to him. He is composer, singer, especially Turkish folk musician and a novelist that I read all his books, impressive writing, and newspaper columnist anda film director, especially the film "Iron Earth, Copper Sky was" unforgetable one. He is also a prominent left-wing and social-democrat politician and was a member of the Turkish parliment for one term. But as always in this country politics can't keep our beautiful people to stay long and to work in politician arena. But he was the politician who we need. I'll never understand this country,.... anyway.

*
Gather some sun for me
*
Dawn-wind, go to the mountains
Gather some sun for me
Send messages in all four directions darling
*
Gather some sun for me
From amongst the hopes
From the black of eyelashes
From the wound of the knife in the breast darling
*
Gather some sun for me
Dawn-wind, from the eye of the beloved
From the trace of the flying bird
From the skies of the night darling
Gather some sun for me
*
Poem by Ülkü Tamer
Music by Zülfü Livaneli
